What do you like most about GVID? / Why is it good to study at GVID?

• I like the atmosphere created by both the students as well as the teachers. I also like the fact that teachers try to make each lesson interesting by engaging the students in the subject matter covered. (Massimo)

• I would say that GVID is considered one of the best grammar schools in Brno. Our school is perfect for students who are interested in programming or maths. I personally like that our school management is trying to make the school more comfortable for students and they listen to students’ proposals. • My favorite “thing” at our school are teachers. The appearance of the school is not important at all, so I think that what makes the school what it really is are teachers. Teachers from our school are very kind and always try to accommodate us. They try to prepare us as best as possible for the final exam and for subsequent studies at university. (Helena)

• In my opinion studying at GVID is great because there is such a friendly atmosphere at the school. Most teachers are really willing to help you when you have problems or you don’t understand something in their subject. There are also a lot of opportunities at GVID. You can take part in many events such as student sport competitions where you can compete with other schools in the Czech Republic or you can compete in one of many math, biology, social studies, etc. competitions. What makes the Czech Republic worth visiting? / Why should a foreigner visit the CR and what should they see or do there?

• I believe that the Czech Republic is worth visiting because of its rich history, diverse architecture, beautiful national parks as well as the many castles and châteaux. (Massimo)

• I think the Czech Republic is definitely worth visiting mainly because of its beautiful historical heritage left here by numerous monarchies all across the country. (Ondřej)

• The Czech Republic is a country with beautiful landscape and unique culture. Czech mountains are not the highest in Europe, but they are perfect for hiking. I would say that Jeseníky mountains or Giant Mountains are worth visiting the most. Czech countryside is full of castles, ruins and historical villages. The most beautiful towns that show old Czech culture are for example Kutná Hora or Český Krumlov. Cities worth visiting are in my opinion Brno, capital city Prague or Olomouc. (Lukáš)

• The countryside looks beautiful, Czech people are sweet and nice, an amazing culture. I recommend visiting Prague. In Prague you can find a beautiful Prague Castle, nice parks, theaters and more. Definitely try to visit other Czech cities like Brno or Ostrava. (Kryštof)

• The Czech Republic is a country full of rich history and culture that is definitely worth a visit for any foreigner, there are many beautiful and interesting places to see nearby. For example, you can visit the UNESCO-listed Lednice-Valtice Cultural Landscape, which features stunning chateaus and gardens. You can also explore the medieval town of Mikulov, famous for its wine production and picturesque architecture. Additionally, Brno itself has a lot to offer, with its beautiful old town, modern museums, and vibrant nightlife. • The Czech Republic has many historical sights so it's perfect for sightseeing. I must say Prague is a beautiful city. It's the capital of the Czech Republic. For example you can go to Charles Bridge (Karlův most). (Adela)

• Our capital city Prague has many beautiful monuments you should visit, for example: Charles Bridge, Astronomical Clock, Prague Castle and many others. As a foreigner you have to try our traditional cuisine. Our “svíčková” or fried cheese will stay in your memories forever. (Franziska)

• I, personally, love nature, so I’m really glad that more than one third of the land is covered with diverse forests. There are also tons of old castles and many other beautiful historical sights to see. You can go almost anywhere and there will be something worth visiting.

• I would say that the Czech Republic is definitely worth visiting for its long and rich history. There are many sights that will definitely take your breath away. However if you are not a big fan of history nor architecture, you can try traditional Czech cuisine. You can try a variety of sauces, dumplings, meat, pies and a lot of beer. (Tereza)

• The Czech Republic is a beautiful country. There are many UNESCO sites that are definitely worth a visit. For example Saint Barbara's Church in Kutná Hora. There are many ancient cities, such as Český Krumlov, but also natural monuments, such as National Park Šumava. • The Czech Republic is worth visiting because of the beautiful architecture, historical sights and there are very well-preserved areas as well. Some of them have been declared as UNESCO sights. Some of the worth visiting UNESCO sights are in Prague, the capital city, such as the Charles bridge or the Prague castle but you should visit the Karlštejn Castle and Vila Tugendhat as well. • The Czech Republic is a country with many interesting places. We have incredibly beautiful landscapes and also our cities like Prague are definitely worth visiting. Moreover we have delicious cuisine. In my opinion, everyone should try our meal called “Svíčková” once in a lifetime. (Marie)
